The founder and artistic director at TRIKO CIRCUS THEATRE is Iva Peter-Dragan.
Iva is an actress, director, and educator who, over her many years of professional theatre experience, has worked in numerous domestic and international productions as an actress, clown, acrobat, choreographer, and director. She is one of the first educators of aerial acrobatics in Croatia, as well as a leader of clowning skill workshops.
Iva holds a PhD with a dissertation on the topic Theatre Clown: The Performativity of Comical.
She is a member of Croatian Association of Drama Artist and Croatian Association of Independent Artists.
Iva is the founder and artistic director at TRIKO CIRCUS THEATRE, the Best Croatian independent theatre of the season 2011/2012.
The performances of Triko were performed around the globe.
Monodrama Palunko’s Wife won four awards in three international festivals last two years: The best show and the best actress on Trema festival in Ruma, Serbia, and best actress on Sharm el Sheik International Theatre Festival in Egypt and Colombo International Theatre Festival in Sri Lanka.
Throughout her theatre career, Iva participated in many drama and clown workshops led by prominent international clowns and comedians: Lee Delong, Jango Edwards, David Shiner, John Towsen, Bill Irwin, David Larible, Nola Rae, Eric Debont, Ira Seidenstein, Slava Polunin, Tortel Paltrona and many more.
Along with developing her clown persona, she mastered the following skills: playing the trombone, walking on stilts, aerial acrobatics, and juggling.
Iva continually works in professional theatre productions in Croatia, as a director, movement choreographer and performer.
As for the TV and film experiences, Iva was casting circus artists for big productions, and she was a creative coach for variete acts on Croatia’s Got Talent season 2019, 2020 & 2021.
Iva is the visionary as well as the artistic director behind projects such as the Zagreb Clown Festival – the first and only clown theatre festival in Croatia, the Clown Platform – a series of masterclasses for professional performers, Triko Circus Studio – a school for aerial acrobatics, Circus Express – circus matinees, a platform for circus performances for young audiences, and many others.
